Oral surgery involves removing a tooth. Sometimes, despite our best efforts, that needs to happen. And we are able to handle most of these procedures here in the office. And that’s a great relief to a lot of people. They don’t have to go to another surgeon, do another consult, gain trust of another practitioner. We can do it here.
Our techniques allow people to do it in a way that it’s not rushed. The procedure goes easily. The comment that we usually hear is, “That wasn’t so bad, it’s over already.”

We Have Comprehensive Surgical Solutions
There are numerous reasons why you may need dental surgery. However, you can feel confident knowing that Dr. Mueller only recommends it if absolutely necessary. If he can restore the function and health of your tooth with another treatment, he will. However, sometimes you need dental surgery to prepare for certain procedures or to protect healthy teeth from an infection.
We offer:
- Tooth Removal – If you have a severely damaged or infected tooth, an extraction procedure can prevent further complications to your oral health.
- Wisdom Teeth Removal – We can remove wisdom teeth to help you avoid overcrowding and other complications. We refer more complex cases to an oral surgeon.
- Cosmetic Gum Surgery – Enhance the beauty of your smile by improving the appearance of your gumline. This procedure is also sometimes done to prepare you for veneers or crowns.
- Ridge Augmentation – This procedure helps you create or maintain a strong jaw after tooth loss or extraction. It’s often used to prepare for dental implants or other restorative treatments.
- Sinus Lifts – If you are getting implants in your upper jaw, this treatment replaces the bone lost in the area to support implants. It also makes room for these artificial tooth roots.
- Bone Grafts – This can increase bone volume in your jaw, providing a solid foundation for implants and improving overall oral function.
If you struggle with anxiety, sedation options are available.

I possibly represent the maximum patient. My mouth was a mess of decayed and missing teeth. I had no teeth to oppose for chewing. Out of necessity, I was restricted to soft foods. I haven’t eaten a steak, apple or corn on the cob for many years. Further, lack of teeth forces slurs and mumbles making clear speech almost inpossible. I had to find a suitable dentist. I think the first appt is my chance to determine a prospective doctor’s training, competence, experience, and suitability – in effect a job interview where the doctor is in the hot seat I vetted dentists and determined via his examination and treatment proposal, Dr Mueller would be a good choice. He presented alternative treatments and his suggestion to capitalize on my few remaining sound teeth, install implants finished with a system of permanet bridges made the best sense to me. In a home rennovation the first step after the plan is agreed on is demolition and preparation for the finish work. In my case there were six crowns, three extractions, four bone grafts, and 8 (I think) implants with the bulk of the work taking most of the day under local anesthesia. Therefore my first step (actually third appointment) was a dilly taking a full day in the chair. This was a trying, somewhat uncomfortable but not painful experience. Dr Mueller and his assistant were quick, efficient and considerate offering regular breaks to flex muscles, stretch, bathroom, etc. Everything was organized, on hand, and ready when needed. There were no false starts, fumbles, or surprises. I left the office a bit tender and swollen but that had almost disappeared by the next day. There will be a wait of several months while my bone grafts integrate with my jawbones. I am presently mid-way in my dental treatment. Later comes impressions and after that installation of the bridges. While this was quite expensive, I will emerge from the experience with a full set of teeth. Eating for me will evolve from a slow careful time-consuming process to eating what I like without restriction while carrying on clearly enunciated conversations at family dinners. I can hardly wait. It’s a year later; Nov ’25. My dental work is complete. I now have a full mouth of teeth on implants that look and function exactly like natural teeth. The process of creating my new dentition was long, at times uncomfortable, and crrtainly expensive but in the end well worth it. Eating steak, apple, kettle potatoe chips, etc pose no difficulty. I anticipated a period of adjustment – cheek and tongue biting etc – while I got used to my new teeth but that didn’t happen. My experience with Dr Muller and his staff has been all positive. They did good work on me with no fuss, fumbling, false starts or unfulfilled promises. I’m a happy patient.

There are many reasons you may need an oral surgery procedure. One of the most common is to remove teeth, whether you need to make room for dentures or another restoration or to avoid future dental problems. You may also need cosmetic gum surgery to make them more aesthetically pleasing. If you are getting implants, you may need a procedure such as a bone graft, sinus lift, or ridge augmentation to ensure your jaw is strong enough to support them.
Your dental insurance or medical insurance may cover a portion of your oral surgery. We recommend you check with your individual carriers to find out what they will and won’t pay for before you have any work done. That way, there aren’t any big surprises in store for you. As a convenience, we offer third-party financing through CareCredit and LendingClub.
We recommend not exercising at all for the first 24 hours after oral surgery. Trying to do too much too soon can prolong healing. Vigorous exercise can loosen the blood clot on an extraction site and lead to a painful dry socket, for example. For the next few days, a patient should limit activities to low-impact exercises as a precaution.
